SR:-Post-truth

TOPIC OF THE BLOG:-

In this blog I am going to discuss the concept or we can say the word Post-truth which is given by Dilip sir from The English Department and it's a part of a Sunday reading. Thinking is a must for any kind of Debate, Doubt and Solution. So, to know the true way of thinking check out my blog on Thinking Skills by Professor Milan Pandya.

For the original texts, more materials, presentation and blogs visit this sites:-

WORD:-
POST:-The word has so many meanings like upright support, job, employment , lookout, station, mail service (noun), situate, position, advise, inform (verb) etc. Post also used a  suffix like post-modernism, post-graduate, postpone, postmortem, post-Colonial etc. TRUTH:-We all are aware of the word truth that simply means honesty, loyalty, reality, validity (noun).

Now let's see the meaning of the word when it's combined. Post-truth is an adjective defined as ‘relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief’.

WORD OF THE YEAR:-
The German tradition, Wort des Jahres (Word of the Year) was started in 1971. Each December, a German word or word group is named in a linguistic review of the year. The oldest Word of the Year "aufmüpfig" (German word) means Rebellious, insubordinate and this word was chosen because of the Characterization of the 1960s counterculture, especially the German student movement.
As the Word of the year some there were also terms called Word of the Decade, Word of the Past Millennium, Word of the 20th Century, Un-Word of the year, Youth Word of the Year, word of the month etc. As the Oxford Dictionary gives Word of the year there were also many Dictionaries, Society and others choose Word of the year like  American Dialect Society, Australian National Dictionary Center, Collins English Dictionary, Macquarie Dictionary, Merriam-Webster Oxford, Grant Barrett, Dictionary.com etc.

POST-TRUTH WORD OF THE YEAR(2016):-
According to Wikipedia The Word of the Year need not have been coined within the past twelve months but it does need to have become prominent or notable during that time. There is no guarantee that the Word of the Year will be included in any Oxford dictionary. The Oxford Dictionaries Words of the Year are selected by editorial staff from each of the Oxford dictionaries. The selection team is made up of lexicographers and consultants to the dictionary team, and editorial, marketing, and publicity staff.

From 2004 Oxford Dictionary started to give word of the year under the rules which i described above. The word of the year 2004 was CHAV. Interestingly in 2012 the very famous word of this century, GIF, was declared as a US word of the year. In 2015 surprisingly 😂 (Face with Tears of Joy emoji) this emoji was declared as a US and UK word of the year. After the word of the year 2016 Post-truth Oxford Dictionary declared Aadhar as a Hindi Word of the year 2017. 2020 is considered as a blank year in UK and US word of the year. And the recent 2021 word of the year was vax.

Oxford Dictionary declared POST-TRUTH as a word of the year on the basis of the Brexit referendum in the UK and the presidential election in the US.

WHAT IS POST-TRUTH?:-
"When the mistakes fall disproportionately on one side, it is no respect for the notion of truth to pretend that everything is even."
- Lee McIntyre

"The mob believes everything it is told, provided only that it be repeated over and over. Provided that its passions, hatreds, fears are catered to. Nor need one try to stay within the limits of plausibility: on the contrary, the grosser, the bigger, the cruder the lie, the more readily is it believed and followed. Nor is there any need to avoid contradictions: the mob never notices; needless to pretend to correlate what is said to some with what is said to others: each person or group believes only what he is told, not what anyone else is told; needless to strive for coherence: the mob has no memory; needless to pretend to any truth: the mob is radically incapable of perceiving it: the mob can never comprehend that its own interests are what is at stake.”

 - Alexandre Koyré
Post-truth is a term referred to as a documentation of and deals with disputes over public truth claims. The term was used academically and publicly before 2016. But the Oxford dictionary made it more popular after 2016.The French philosopher Bruno Latour has been criticized for contributing to the intellectual foundations for post-truth. In 2018, the New York Times ran a profile on Bruno Latour and post-truth politics. Hannah Arendt has been cited as an important conceptual resource for post-truth theory.
"What these problem-solvers have in common with down-to-earth liars is the attempt to get rid of facts and the confidence that this should be possible because of the inherent contingency of facts."
- Arendt writes
Carl Sagan's words are thought to be a prediction of a "post-truth" or "alternative facts" world. For more details you can also watch a video based on Post-truth.

SOME OF THE EXAMPLE OF POST-TRUTH:-
  • One of the best examples of Post-truth is a trendy one of Donald Trump lies.
  • The very known and Our favorite Shushant Singh Rajput died a few years ago and Aaj Tak News telecast or we can say published a fake news of the last word of Sushant Singh Rajput that we can see in the below picture.

  • Nowadays most of the students of the English Department getting Requests from fake accounts of  HOD, Dilip Sir on Instagram and many students who don't know that it's a fake account get trapped and accept the request.
  • This is an example of a Corona time report published by THE HINDU newspaper on bets study.
  • Not only These newspapers but the Dainik Bhaskar is also on the way. Dainik Bhaskar published fake news using a poor girl, now facing public criticism online.
  • The news and all the Drug cases which happened a few years ago were full of rumours and fake News which we can't deny and published by several newspapers.

The Rape Of The Lock by Alexander Pope

INTRODUCTION:-

In this blog I am going to throw light upon some questions related to Rape Of The Lock by Alexander Pope . The Rape Of The Lock is a mock-epic.

For the full poem click below:-

To understand the poem more deeply you can also watch this YouTube video by Dr. Debasree Basu.

1 - WHO IS THE PROTAGONIST OF THE POEM CLARISSA OR BELINDA ? WHY ?

If we see technically Belinda consider as a protagonist of the poem. Someone considered Clarissa as a protagonist of the poem. But it's a known fact that Clarissa's thaught in the end of the canto 5 it's totally like Alexander's personality. When Clarissa gave Scissors to the Byron for cut the hair of Belinda, in our mind Clarissa potrait as a antagonist of the poem that how can she do that as a girl to the other girl. The hair is the identity of the girl in a sense. Not only like girls love their hairs boy's alos love theirs. In this poem it is describe that Byron love the hairs of Belinda and that's why he want to cut her hair and says that I love your hair, so let me cut your lock of the hair. And so for this Clarissa gave Scissors to Mr. Byron. And Mr. Byron also cut Belinda's lock of hair. We can signify lock in a many sense but here lock means a perticular tuft of the hair.
When after Mr. Byron cut the hair of Belinda, Belinda seems so sad for that and Clarissa don't felt guilty for that. So, we can say that she is totally like antagonist. But we can't say that Belinda is the protagonist of the poem. The qualities which a protagonist should have been in their personality Belinda doesn't have any. So, according to me there is no protagonist of the poem but situation and events which happens with the characters.

2 - WHAT IS BEAUTY?

Beauty, this word have different meanings to person to person. But if ask me that what is Beauty according to me i clearly can say there are so many meanings of beauty like inner beauty, outer beauty, beauty in the nature, beauty in our sight, beauty in our thaughts and everything which delight our soul is beautiful.

"Beauty is power, a smile is its sword."
- John Ray

"Let us live for the beauty of our own reality."
 - Charles Lamb

"Beauty is truth's smile when she Beholds her on face in a perfect mirror."
- Rabindranath Tagore

"If the path be beautiful, lat us not ask where it leads."
- Anatole France

"Beauty awakens the soul to act."
- Dante Alighieri

"Things are beautiful if you love them."
- Jean Anouilh

"The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express. "
- Francis Bacon

"Personal beauty is a greatest recommendation than any letter of reference."
- Aristotle

Through all this quotes by great writers, philosophers and others, we can clearly see that how the standard of beauty and meaning of beauty changes from person to person.

3 - SIGNIFICANCE OF HAIR. IS IT SYMBOLIC?

The hair means Lock of the hair. In this poem hair is like everything for Belinda and Byron cuts it cause he likes it. Here it sounds wrong but it is true that if we love anything means let's destroy that thing. But here lock of the hair symbolises as chains. Pope initially introduces the locks, he says they have been nourished "to the destruction of mankind," meaning they have great power and have been groomed in such a way as to have even more power.
From childhood to now age Belinda cares for her hair and grew them with full notic and make it so beautiful like anyone see and suddenly falls in love with them. Pope here said that it is also a same thing that women are the only who make themselves so beautiful and charming that men falls in love with them and in the end women being the reason for destroying of the mankind.

4 - ARTICLE ON THE RAPE OF THE LOCK:-
To see the original site click here to ResearchGate
This article is by Dr. George Kolanchery. Normally works or any blog starts with the introduction but we can see the difference between artical and blog that article start with the abstract. In this abstract he uses the line “No writer”, says Leslie Stephen, “reflects so clearly and completely the spirit of his own day as Pope does.” It is the epic of trifling; a page torn from the petty, pleasure-seeking life of fashionable beauty. Than he uses the keywords like Alexander Pope, The Rape of the Lock, Contemporary life, fashionable society.
In introduction he start with his point of way for justifying and told us to imagine that we are somewhere sitting alone and someone suddenly cut our hair what we do in that situation? In introduction he also included the age know by whom or for what reason, Alexander Pope is as representative of his age as Chaucer was of the late fourteenth century and Tennyson of the Victorian Age that his age is known as the Age of Pope speaks of the sovereign position in his age. It was an age of spiritual hollowness.
He leads towards his article by saying that ‘The Rape of the Lock’ – a Mirror of the Age. In The Frivolities of Womenfolk he used this line, This lady Favours to none, to all she smiles extends off she rejects, but never she offends. He started Hollowness of the Gentlemen of the Day with the line, The gentlemen are as frivolous as the ladies.
In conclusion he said that, No English poem is at once so brilliant and so empty as ‘The Rape of the Lock’. It reflects the artificial age with splendour and inward emptiness. And in end he gave refrence of Shampoo

Romantic poets:- Academic Visit to Victoria Park

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

2022 July 20th, The day when we Visited Victoria Park, Bhavnagar, Gujarat.

PURPOSE OF THE VISITING VICTORIA PARK:-
For the formality purpose I can say we visited Victoria Park cause we have romanticism in our syllabus. But behind this romanticism word I personally go only for the nature. When we heard this world romanticism we thought about different writers, poets, dramatist and critics who writes on different subjects. But the romantic poet is the person who knows what true romanticism and natural love is. Of course we go for academic for academic purpose too but we enjoy nature with our soul and experience what romanticism is. How romantic poets writers inspire themselves to write marvelous and beautiful poetry on nature. So let's go on a trip of Victoria Park with me through my blog. But first let's understand why this trip called as romanticism.

Romanticism also known as romantic movement and romantic era. This Era was an artistic, literary, musical, and intellectual movement.

'Romanticism is a beauty without bounce the beautiful infinite.'

- Jean Paul

'I find the Romantic period extraordinarily interesting. My landscapes have connections with Romanticism: at times I feel a real desire for, an attraction to, this period, and some of my pictures are a homage to Caspar David Friedrich.'

-Gerhard Richter

With this two point of you we can clearly see that how romanticism effect us.

ORIGIN OF ROMANTICISM:-
As we normally know that the romantic era start with publication of Lyrical Ballads by William Wordsworth and ST Coleridge. Now let's see in the history.
Elizabethans belonged to romanticism as Shakespeare was the first who introduced the spirit of romanticism but he had no successors to carry on. Thereupon it came to an end of 18th century. During 18th century Thomson published 'The Seasons'. it implies return to nature, craying for the beautiful, love of men, God Sensuousness, lyricism etc. In short romanticism expresses a new delight in theme, feeling and expression. In this way to seed of romanticism was shown by Thomson and Grew, Cowper, Collins, Burns. They were considered the fore-runners of romantic poets. Letter on romanticism was revived fully with the publication of Lyrical Ballads in 1778 by William Wordsworth and ST Coleridge.
The first generation of romantics was Coleridge and Wordsworth. Vote for the first time emphasized upon the aims and objects of the new poetry. They introduced a number of a new metres and they rejected poetic diction of 18th century. They favoured simplicity of theme.
The second generation of the romantics were Keats, Shelley and Byron. They could get fame after their death. Keats was considered as the worshiper of beauty. Shelly was an idealist and lyrist of the first order. Byron Was the most passionate poet.

FEATURES OF ROMANTICISM:-
  • Break from the set rules
  • Interest in country life
  • Love of liberty and freedom
  • Interest in the middle age
  • Love for beauty
  • Predominance of imagination and emotion
  • Supernaturalism

INFLUENCE OF THE NATURE AND EXPERIENCE OF MINE:-

I lost myself when I enter in the nature. I feel like I am flying between the gets of heaven and the beauty of Earth. Normally we go in nature or any beautiful place we are addicted to take pictures but when I see this beautiful lake, trees, and insects, I am just lost in them. I went there with my classmates my, seniors and Yesha Ma'am

We all enjoyed so much not each other companies only but nature too. And the weather was also perfect and matched with the situation. But sometimes I feel sorry too cause in that visit we disturbed nature in a bit way. I also took so many pictures of nature that I want to add in this blog.

After sometime with Enjoying the nature we also had delicious food and nature made that more delicious.

This marvellous place where we had our Lunch, is look more beautiful from front.

In this amazing Victoria Park there is also a beautiful observation point form there I clicked so many pictures. So, here is a path of to the observation point.

In last I also tried to pictures bets in the camera.

Even after the death I shall remember this visit of Victoria Park.

Bridge Course:- Wordsworth's Preface

INTRODUCTION:-

Our life reflects through literature. 'Literature shows the direction of life’s movement’. This literature is also divided in many genres like Poem, Novel, Novella, Drama, Epic, Prose, Short-story, Song, etc. If we go genre to genre in that there were also many writers who were called as father in their category. In this blog I am going to discuss one of the famous genre poetry and  Father of the Romantic poetry William Wordsworth, a Romantic Poet.

William Wordsworth born on 7th April 1770, Cockermouth, Cumberland, England and died on 23rd April 1850, Rydal Mount, Westmoreland. He was the second of five children born to John Wordsworth and Ann Cookson. Wordsworth's father was a legal representative of James Lowther, 1st Earl of Lonsdale. He is one of the pioneers in beginning the romantic moment with Samuel Tyler Coleridge (1772-1834). Wordsworth was Poet Laureate from 1843 until his death from pleurisy on 23 April 1850. The Monarch of that time was Queen Victoria. He was Preceded by Robert Southey and Succeeded by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Mary Hutchinson was considered as his wife. He has one girl child named Dorothy "Dora" Wordsworth. His major works are as follows:-
Here is a video on William Wordsworth, maybe it helps you to understand him more clearly.
1 - WHAT IS POETRY?

"Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility."
- William Wordsworth

That means one cannot plan a poem, it comes naturally with overflowing powerful feelings. According to Wordsworth, there are four stages in the creation of poetry of a true poet:-
  • Observation
  • Recollection
  • Contemplation
  • Creation
The poetry which has all this stages perfectly it gives immense joy to the poet and he shares it with his readers. Blake, he also reject aristotelian doctrines of poetry by saying that plot, or situation, is not the first thing but it is this strong feeling that matters.

WORDSWORTH'S POETIC THEORY :-
Wordsworth was profoundly influenced by the French Revolution it's slogan 'Liberty, equality, and fraternity.'  The three magic terms were one of the triggers for Wordsworth to break away from the rule bound poetry of the previous Neo-classical age into a whole new poetic theory of 'inner evidence of sensation and spontaneous feeling.'
Found the need of writing the preface in the second edition of Lyrical Ballads  to respond to the question raised to his advent of a new type of poetry. which is preface he has put for his point of you and remove the bitter criticism of his poems. Secondly, he made readers aware about the different type of poetry he had composed to make them understand his poetry. Lastly, he wanted to re-establish Shakespeare in Milton over 'frantic novels, sickly and stupid German tragedies, and flood of idle and extravagant stories in verse'.

2 - WHY DOES WORDSWORTH SAY 'WHAT' IS POET? RATHER THAN WHO IS POET?

Wordsworth gives a voluminous explanation on the meaning of the word 'poet' and 'what is poet?' rather than 'who is poet?' he says a poet is a man speaking to man, affluent with more lively sensibility, more enthusiasm and delicacy, who has a greater knowledge of human nature, who knows how other man are feeling, who knows how my writing affect them, and a more capacious soul. Who deeply knows and who rejoices, more than other men in the spirit of life, habitually urged to create volition, passion and situations where he does not find them.
William Wordsworth speak about it in preface of Lyrical Ballads that,

"He is a man speaking to men: a man, it is true, endued with more lively sensibility, more enthusiasm and tenderness, who has a greater knowledge of human nature, and a more comprehensive soul, than are supposed to be common among mankind; a man pleased with his own passions and volitions, and who rejoices more than other men in the spirit of life that is in him; delighting to contemplate similar volitions and passions as manifested in the goings-on of the universe, and habitually impelled to create them where he does not find them."

R.A. Scott-James calls it 'The Summum Bonum of the poet's life'.
Through this lines Wordsworth gave his point of view that poet should be one who know to write on that Something comes from the heart. The general people don't have that sense and inner understanding. A poet is more happy and delightful than the ordinary person. And he should know to make how to make volition where he does not find it. He should please with his own passion. And most importantly he should have the great knowledge of human nature and personality that how my writing affect everyone.
Here is a video on this topic coverd by Professor Dilip Barad and Dr. Sanjay

3 - WHAT IS POETIC DICTION? WHICH SORT OF POETIC DICTION IS SUGGESTED BY WORDSWORTH IN HIS PREFACE?

In his works Preface to Lyrical Ballads an essay, he addresses his point of view and meaning of poetic diction.
If we look at the dictionary meaning of poetic diction it simply means 'choice of words' which used as a style by or in the particular poet and poem. Here Wordsworth, poetic diction means, 'a selection of language really used by men' specially man of 'humble and rustic life' to make the poetry more interesting, popular among common readers and to give poetic pleasure to all. He avoids poetic diction of the previous age, he doesn't support the idea of using artificial metaphors and other figure of speech or any other device to decorate the poem or to make the style higher.
Wordsworth also described that there is no difference between language of prose and poetry. The arrangement or order of words used in the best poetry can also be found in the prose. Only the use of metre can differentiate the difference between the poetry and prose. According to him, readers can easily follow the rules of metre. It does not make any interference with the passion of readers.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

The poem I wondered lonely as a cloud also know as Daffodils. The poem does describe the beauty and power of the flowers. Daffodils ultimately turns out to be a beautiful, dramatic lyric on the poets spiritual conversation in the company of nature. Daffodils based on a real life experience of the poet and his sister Dorothy helps him to write it. This poem was composed in 1807.
The poet narrates his experience when he used to wander as a cloud on the highest pick of hills and vales. During his wandering he happened to see a lot of yellow flowers which tall stems and long narrow leaves. They were Daffodils. There were spread around lake, beneath the trees. When he saw the Daffodils he feels like Daffodils are dancing with the breeze. It also shows that daffodils enriches the beauty of nature. Than Wordsworth compared daffodils with shining star. In a milky way there are thousands of stars like that there were large number of Daffodils. The Daffodils were becoming more and more beautiful and shining brightly with  flashes of light.
In last the poet says his personal experience. When he is alone lying in his sofa and having serious mood, suddenly he thinks of his past experience of looking Daffodils. This experience gives him a lot of pressure, bliss and happiness. He immediately forgets that he is alone and having serious mood. And that's how he tells us that only nature has that capacity to convert human being from unhappiness to highest bliss.
Through this poem and brief introduction of the poem that what in this poem and how it came to existence clearly shows the poetic creed of Wordsworth. His belief that poetry must be with full of emotions and spontaneity. He described his highest emotions in this poem.

NOTE:- If you find any problem or question or suggestions please let me know ☺️ some of the information are collected from the different sources which I mentioned after the perticular lines.

Macbeth by William Shakespeare

This blog is part of a Thinking activity, thAct:-Macbeth given by Dilip sir (Dilip Barad's blog) from English Department.
For the more detailed material Click here .

INTRODUCTION:-

As we all know that Macbeth is a tragedy by William Shakespeare . It was first performed in 1606 according to scholars. During the reign of King James I all the plays he wrote, Macbeth, clearly shown his relation with King James I. Apart from Macbeth history in this blog I am going to discuss about film adaptations and some of examples of the movies of the Macbeth in detail.

WHAT IS FILM ADAPTATION?
A movie or a part of a movie based on written work called film adaptation. For more details you can also see this video available on YouTube.

This site (Library) might help you to understand deeply what and how film adaptation works and made.

ADAPTATIONS OF THE MACBETH:-

This movie is originally adaption of the Macbeth, historical and tragic play by William Shakespeare published in 1623. Joel Coen is the director, writer and producer of the movie. This movie is considered as a first directed movie by Joel Coen. The cast of the movie included Danzel Washington, Frances McDormand, Bertie Carvel, Alex Hassell, Corey Hawkins, Harry Melling, Kathryn Hunter, Brendan Gleeson and others.  Production company of the movie is A24 and IAC films.

Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, and Banquo, Thane of Lochaber, coming towards King Duncan's palace after victory over the Thane of Cawdor. At this time they are stopped by three witches and they prophecies that Macbeth going to be king but his children not. Banquo's children going to King but banquo not.  After coming to the palace, Ross, gave him news that he is now Than of Cowdor and his son Malcolm going to be next king. After hearing this news his ambition became more powerful.

He wrote letter to his wife and lady Macbeth form a conspiracy. The plot of the movie run further same as the Shakespearean play. But movie can based on the play but can't copy line to line. There is always has a minor or major difference between movie and real play.

In this movie we not that the age of Macbeths are different from the original play. Danzel Washington and Frances McDormand are in their 60s in the movie and it's shown as issue of heir of Macbeth. The second notable part of the movie is most of the character played by African actors. The third notable part in the movie is the three witches  part.

Same as the play this movie follow the plot of shakespearean play. This movie is directed by Justin Kurzel in written by Michael Lesslie, Jacob Koskoff, and Todd Louiso. This movie starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Paddy Considine, Sean Harris, Jack Reynor, David Thewlis and others.

The first scene of the movie start with Macbeth and lady Macbeth grieving their child. While in the play there is no information about any child of the Macbeth and lady Macbeth. And This is a major change in movie apart from original play.

As it's a adaptation of the Play there were so many similarities too. In the movie screenplay more focuses on the actions of Macbeth not on what is content of the original play. Music of the movie add perfect emotion and tension of the situation.

This movie is a Hindi version of Macbeth by William Shakespeare. In this film they all have connection and some status in the underworld. It's a crime drama film. The director of the movie is Vishal Bhardwaj. Screen play also done Vishal Bhardwaj and Abbas Tyrewala. Star cast of the movie included actor and actress like Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Pankaj Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Piyush Mishra, Murali Sharma, Masumeh Makhija, and others.

Miyan Maqbool is the right-hand man of Jahangir Khan (alias Abba Ji), a powerful underworld don. As I said every movie adaptation has a change that make a movie interesting apart from the Play. The scene of witches in the Play, here drawn as three witches are the policeman. Who predicts that  maqbool going to be next don after Abba ji. And also predicts about Kaka that is son afterwards leads to Don's status. Here are also change in a story that Nimmi is not a wife of maqbool but she is lover of maqbool, even though he married to Abba Ji. And nimmi and maqbool then everything for their love and also for a position of a don. The noticeable part is also kaka's death and how Vishal Bharadwaj improvise The Banquo's soul scene with kaka's death.

This movie has same plot as original play.  An ambitious Laird won throne of Scotland with the help of his conspirator wife and three witches. The director of the movie is Jeremy Freeston. Jeremy Freeston and Bob Carruthers are the Writer of the movie including William Shakespeare. The star cast included Jason Connery, Helen Baxendale, Graham Mc Tavish, Kenneth Bryans, Ross Dunsmore, and others.

This movie is also a crime drama film directed and written by William Reilly and based on Macbeth by William Shakespeare. John Turturro, Katherine Borowitz, Dennis Farina, Peter Boyle, Stanley Tucci, Steven Wright, Rod Steiger, and others, these are the star cast of the movie.

Mike Battaglia, a powerful lieutenant in the D’Amico crime family. Despite D'Amico magnanimousness, Mike secretly shows grudge toward him for passing him over as his successor. At the provocation of Ruthie, his wife, Battaglia murders D'Amico and has his sons send off to Florida. In this we can clearly see the change that year mike has children. Here is a trailer of the movie...

MACBETH (1961)

This is the Canadian version of the Macbeth play. The screenplay in direction done by Paul AlmondSean Connery, Zoe Caldwell, William Needles, Ted Follows, Robin Gammell, Powys Thomas, Sharon Acker, and others are star cast of the movie. This movie also has same plot as original play with a minor change but the most famous dialogue of the Macbeth, Tomorrow... Tomorrow... Tomorrow... Is well acted in the movie.

This movie is Japanese jidaigeki film( a genre of a film ). This movie is co-written, produced, edited, and directed by Akira Kurosawa. Shinobu HashimotoRyūzō KikushimaAkira KurosawaHideo Oguni are the screenplay writer. Toshiro Mifune, Isuzu Yamada, Takashi Shimura, Yōichi Tachikawa, Minoru Chiaki, Takamaru Sasaki, and others are starring in the movie.

The opening scene of the movie is different from the original play. In the original play there were three witches and in this opening scene there is only one woman who predicts about Taketoki Washizu.

This adaptation of the movie is one of the best adaptations of all the movies of Macbeth. From first to last scene of course with the minor change its totally same or we can say more interesting. When we read the play, the first scene of the play of witches, we assume that how they doing that mantra thing. In this movie we can clearly get attached with the first scene with dialogue to dialogue.

The most famous scene of the play is the lady Macbeth scene when she try to remove blood from her hands. In this movie this scene is on to point.

This movie considered as a modern version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. This film is directed and written by William Morrissette. James Le Gros, Maura Tierney, Christopher Walken, Kevin Corrigan, Jane  Rehborn, Tom Guiry, and others are starring in the movie. Here is the full plot of this movie By Wikipedia.
