4  - FAVOURITE SECENES FORM THE MOVIE:-

As we all know the movie Pride and Prejudice based on Pride and  Prejudice novel by Jane Austen. Her style to narrate her emotions through the characters of the novel it's just marvelous. So generally the cinematic version of novel going to be good. Of course there is exceptions in case of movies which are based on books. I personally love every scene, emotions, and dialogue of the movie but here I am going to discuss my most two favourite scenes from the movie.

FIRST FAVOURITE SECENE:-

From the lighting fog Mr.Darcy coming near to Elizabeth with full emotions and Elizabeth too feel love towards him when she sees him.

First they express that they both couldn't sleep cause of  what happened. Further Darcy said how he can amends lady catherine's deeds but Elizabeth feel thankful towards him and said that I should be one who needs to do amends. Darcy Immediately shows his love for her and says that he done everything only for her. And again propose her with the charming words,
You have Bewitched me, body and soul, and I Love...I Love...I Love You.
She accept his proposal and kissed his hands with full of love.

SECOND FAVOURITE SECENE:-

Elizabeth goes to talk to her father and with smile she close the door and feel hope in her heart that her father will understand.

Mr. Bennet and all family thought that Elizabeth hated Mr. Darcy but they all proves wrong even Elizabeth herself proves wrong. Mr. Bennet ask Elizabeth that she feel affection with Darcy cause he is rich man and he has so much pride. But when Elizabeth said that she loves him and she is totally wrong about him. And after she said to her father that what Darcy done for her Mr. Bennet said that he must pay him back. But Elizabeth said that you don't want that anyone know this. She said that she misjudged him and she have been nonsensical. While She is talking light of love and happiness in Mr. Bennet's eyes takes heart of mine and became my favourite scene. Is laugh and happiness in last scene made this whole scene soulful.

5 - THERE ARE SO MANY VERSIONS OF THE NOVEL AS FILMS AND TV SERIES...

Novel it's a base of all these films and TV Series so it's easy to say that novel is more important than movie. But here is a talk about liking. What we more like movie or read the novel? Basically who loves to read book referred written work and who doesn't like to read or want to just finished quickly choose movie adaptations. Novel is the main source and needs to be more appealing but in some case movie or series done good than perticular book. (For more information about the movie click the title of the movie)

In the novel we have to read with full attention and with full of perfect emotions if we don't know how a perticular person speaks the dialogue we are not capable of understanding that work. While movie or series gave right idea and make easy to understand lines with perfect emotions. For readers novel is a better appealing but for those who are not more in books appealing to movie or series. But in series or movie it's a limit to show the hundred percent true dialogues and scenes. In movie or series there is also improvisation and sometimes totally different idea of the perticular scene. So, we should watch the movie or series but at least should read main book of the concept.

6 - NARRATIVE STRATEGY OF THE NOVEL AND THE MOVIE:-
7 - If I WAS A MOVIE DIRECTOR THIS DIFFERENCES I WANT MAKE IN MOVIE:-

Firstly the movie is a very good adaptation of the novel. It's not with major changes in the movie from the novel but minor changes are also good. But if I get a chance to change something in movie, the first meeting of Darcy and Elizabeth in the ballroom where they show pride to eachother. I want to change this scene.

When Mr.Darcy first sees the Elizabeth he fall in love with her like love at first site but he don't want to show his feelings to anyone or Elizabeth that's why he acted with pride to Elizabeth. But when Elizabeth dancing Darcy with hidden eyes look at her and don't give his eyes away from her. When Elizabeth catch his sight she also knew that he like her but don't show. And Elizabeth too don't want to force him to tell his feelings cause she also like him at first sight.

When Lydia and Wickham ran off for marriage and Darcy found them in London. I want to change that as Elizabeth and Darcy go together for finding them. And there Darcy and Elizabeth found them few hours before the marriage and succeed to save her. Then they came back with Lydia to the house.

I also want to erase the lady Catherine's desire for marriage of her daughter and Mr.Darcy.

8 - GIVE THE ILLUSTRATION OF THE SOCIETY OF THAT TIME:-

"We must reform society before we can reform ourselves."
- George Bernard Shaw

Humans considered as a social animal. We live in a society which thinks that we should follow the rule what they decide. And who doesn't follow the rules of society, society snatch the right to stay them in perticular area or group.  As a example we can see the life of Oscar Wilde. He born in a wealthy family and has an intelligent mind. He wrote so many great works and inspires further writers. But the act of homosexuality being a reason of his downfall and also banished from the society. And in end he died case of loneliness and depression.
In Pride and Prejudice the society shown as upper class and lower class. Mr Darcy and Mr. Bingley considered from upper class while Elizabeth and her family considered as a lower class in novel. Mr. Darcy first judge Elizabeth from her class. Through the Character of Charlotte, we can see that society deside the age for marriage and if they don't marry in time a perticular person considered as a burden of the family and it's applied only for the female.
Through the character of Mrs. Bennett, we can see that she a kind of a society women who wants to show off and tell everyone that how she follows the rules of society. For the praise of the Jane she said that there is no one in the neighbourhood beutiful than my Jane. Her character reflects the major thinking of the womens of that time.
The character of Elizabeth seems minority in society who knows that society can never ask about our happiness and cares about only themselves. Elizabeth is a good reader and can think by herself and stands for herself. Jane Austen reflects so many aspects of the society through the different characters in the novel.

NOTE:- If you find any problem or any suggestions please let me know in the comment section ☺️.

Thinking Skills by Professor Milan Pandya

“I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think”

- Socrates

INTRODUCTION:-

From Ancient to nowadays every poet, writer, critic, philosopher, and every literature person said that thinking is must. If you say that only literature person that is not true but every person who shows their creativity has perspective that if you want to do anything we need to think first. Without thinking we are zero, we are nothing, not only human being but every living being it is earth live based on their thinking. So, to know this topic more deeply, on the day of 13 and 14 August 2022 we had this knowledgeable workshop about thinking skills by professor Milan Pandya.

This board work was done by our senior Jeel Barad.

PROFESSOR MILAN PANDYA:-

Professor Milan Pandya is a teacher, PhD student, trainer and educator. He is in field of thinking skills. He has his hand tight on Critical, Creative and Design Thinking, English Language Teaching & Communication Skills.

WHAT WE LEARNT?

FIRST DAY:-
-13 August 2022
There are so many types of thinking, but the major type of thinking are only three:-
  1. Critical thinking
  2. Creative thinking
  3. Design thinking
Some teachers gave examples that sometimes it's complicated to understand but sir start with very interesting example of critical thinking.
Behind this beautiful photo of Kareena Kapoor Khan she is smiling cause in this soap ad this soap has discount of 3 rupees. But as we know that she is like millionaire her husband family belongs to nawab so there is no logic that she is smiling on 3 rupees discount. Here we need to think critically that she is smiling cause for this ad she got paid crores of rupees. That's how we think critically and sir also gave us this logical definition or we can say Mantra how to criticize something.

" If something is true what else has to be true with that."

Sir gave also different examples for this critical thinking. In this example he included a scene from 'yeh hai Mohabbatein' serial.
In this picture we can clearly see that how perfectly Ishita made this beautiful hairstyle and done her makeup perfectly even she is injured. So there is no logic that why she can't do plates of saree.
He gave another example of about Satish Shah's Twitter post.
In his Twitter post he climbed that this is the same tiranga his mother got during quite India movement in 1942. If we know history about Indian dhwaj with clearly notice that design of this tiranga declared in 1947. Before the 1947 we had different three types of tiranga design during the different years.
Behind this picture we can critically analysed about this mistake if we know thinking critically.
Sir gave another definition of thinking that he made and follow.

" Thinking about thinking in order to improve thinking."

Sir also taught us about what is context, how it works and context is everything.
He also gave an example of how context matters.
We have huge respect for our Indian army, there is no doubt that we proud to be Indian. With first look this picture looks very normal. We also respect not only Indian army but every army that exist. But in this tweet Shraddha Kapoor said that we are proud to be Indian but she didn't check this photo was this is not Indian army in ice mountain Or in Glacier. But this is different country army. But followers of her mean this thing and spread this photo too false context. So with this example we clearly see that context is everything.
On the same day we also know about difference between possible and plausible with very logical and knowledgeable examples. We also discussed about so many conspiracy theories. In these theories we talk about Qanon conspiracy theory, Divya Bharati conspiracy theory, shree Devi conspiracy theory, Bhagat Singh Gandhi ji conspiracy theory and many more theories with which we can think critically, logically, possibly, and plausibly.
He also told us about what is box story. He gave example about 'Alif Laila' ( 1001 night ).
According to him there is three types of critical way to think:-
  • Logical thinking
  • Rational thinking
  • Scientific thinking
He gave idea that what is fact? According to him fact is fact it can't change if anyone can believe or not.
Example:- Earth is round. its fact. But if particular person don't believe that Earth is round and said that Earth is flat so it doesn't matter and earth can't change it's direction.
Books and teachers these are two major reason we gain information.
According to his belief :-

" Your teacher might be wrong. Learn to think for yourself."
- Tao Te Ching, by Lao Tzu (600 BC)

Second day:-
14 August 2022
On the second day we follow Aristotle thinking that sir taught us by very creative example with an activity.
In this activity you told us to differentiates this stuff in many different categories.
Fruits, Flower, Danger sign, Things which can fly, Things which can harm, Songs included shown stuff from photo, Things which can carry something, Fast food, Musical instrument, Lickers, Electronics, Living and Non living being, Religion symbols, Gift, Round things, Square things, Things which includes in playground, Scholarly things, Things related to education, Quotes which included shown stuff from photo, Dialogues which included shown stuff from photo, Things which are temporary, Things which can stay for long time, Things which shown creativity, Cheese related to cartoon, Gadgets related to cartoon, Weapons, Solid, Things which melts, Things which can use for mixture, Life saving stuff, Metal stuff, Literary works which included shown stuff from photo, Things which go up and down, Things which use for transport stuff and many more categories.
In the end he made us to think about different situations that he gave and called this activity thought experiments.
In this thought experiment gave us situation like we are standing on a road or small path and in front of us there is railway crossing line, on first railway line there is 5 people and the other railway line there is only one person and near us we have leaver or we can say control of the life of them. So now we need to think quickly what we do in this situation, we can share a one person, or we can save five people life with pull the leaver.
This Activity in real sense fall us into really troubled situation.
In the end of this workshop we have more knowledge, more words in our vocabulary, and a different point of you to see the world and Literature. By joining this workshop in weekend holiday its worth gaining.

NOTE:- If you find any trouble and mistake please let me know so i can solve it. In this blog some pictures are clicked by me and some are taken from google and some are by my friends.

Age of Chaucer to Elizabeth

This blog is a part of thinking activity given by Dilip sir .

Introduction:-

"While I thought that I was learning how to live, I have been learning how to die."

 - Leonardo Da Vinci

The term 'Literature' has origin from Latin word littera, 'Letter'. Litrature is a term or we can say a word which express human emotions through words. Ancient Egyptian literature, along with sumerian literature, are considered world's oldest literature. So many writers write novel, drama, prose, poetry, novella, short stories, electronic Literature, nonfiction and other different genres, this all are considered as literature. In nowadays cinema, advertisement, script this all things too considered as a part of a literature.

There were so many writers contributed and gave literature a different meaning but today's Literature is different from ancient literature. Literature is divided into so many ages from Ancient to now.

  • Old English (Anglo-Saxon) Period (450 - 1066)
  • Middle English Period (1066 - 1500)
  • The Renaissance age (1500 - 1660)
                        The Elizabethan age (1558 - 1603)
                         The Jacobean age (1603 - 1625)
                         The Caroline age (1625 - 1649)
                         The commonwealth period (1649 - 1660)
  • The Restoration age (1660 - 1700)
  • The Augustine age ( 1700 - 1745)
  • The age of Sensibility ( 1745 - 1785)
  • The Romantic period ( 1785 - 1832)
  • The Victorian period (1832 - 1901)
  • The Modern period ( 1901 - 1945)
  • The Post-Morden period (1945...........)

(Middle Commonwealth, Restoration age, Augustan age and The age of Sensibility also called as Neo classical period)

This all ages includes so many great writers and fathers of different genres. This all writers and poets gave literature so many great works and and so many ideas for society and make our life beautiful than anything.

In this blog I am going to discuss or elaborate ideas on Edmund Spencer, Renaissance age and other writers, poets and ages.

Renaissance Era:-

The word 'Renaissance' literally means 'Rebirth' and it begin in Italy in the 14th century and subsequently spread throughout Europe during 15th, 16th and 17th century. Renaissan in England coincided with the reign of Elizabeth I who was queen of England and Ireland from 1558 under 1603, so it is commonly referred to as the Elizabeth period cause in this period literature rebirthing after the dark age. In this period works again developed by writers and poets which people want to read and get interested into it.

England's Renaissance in the realm of the thought and art is epitomised by the official recognition that Elizabeth I gave to Oxford and Cambridge. These universities were acknowledged as the focal point for the Nation's learning and scholarly activities. Other historical development which shape the direction of Elizabeth literature including the invention of the printing press to England in 1476 which introduced by William Caxton.

William Caxton (?-1492)

The Renaissance age flourished under Elizabeth I. Her personal love of poetry, music and drama helped to establish a climate in which it was fashionable for the wealthy members of the court to support the arts. Theatres such as the Globe (1599) and the Rose (1587) were built and writers such as Ben Johnson, Christopher Marlow and William Shakespeare wrote comic and tragic plays.

In this time Latin was still used for much of the Literature early in the period. Edmund Spencer's "The Faerie Queene" was written in English and it broke new ground with respect to what could be achieved with this language. The new directions that philosophy of humanism was creating at the time influenced both Spencer and Sydney. A form of Sonnet called either the shakespearean Sonnet or the Elizabethan Sonnet became fashionable. Poorer audience members were required to stand for the duration of the performance while wealthier people could sit in elevated seats. Experimentation with the English language led to the rise in favour of Blank verse. New discoveries could bring untold riches in term of gold and silver and spices - The Elizabethan explorers were searching for the adventure, glory and wealth offered during the age of Exploration. The greatest English explorers of the age of Exploration were Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Humphrey Gilbert, Sir John Hawkins, Sir Richard Grenville and Sir Martin Frobisher.

What is Renaissance?

The Renaissance in Europe was in one sense an awakening from the long slumber of the dark Ages. Thinkers adopted line of considered renowned as 'Humanism'in which mankind was accepted capable of earthly perfection beyond the what had ever been envisaged before.

The stable increase of nationalism, connected with the first flourishing of democracy, were traits widespread to the entire countries. Middle class began to gain power in the towns, as trade and commerce became full enterprise in their own right.

Latest trends in Venice soon became the fashions in Paris and finally London. In the British Islands, the well-known perform of young privileged men  touring the countries first began during the Renaissance. The concepts these travelers conveyed back to their homelands would influence Heritage, government, publications and fashion. Until the Renaissance, Britain was regarded as certain thing of a wilds, needing Heritage and refinement.

The long greatest innovation of The Renaissance era was the printing press. Publishing alerted the whole communal economics of reading and discovering. All the Italian Renaissance is most familiar to scholars, the literary harvest of Renaissance England competitors anything additional of the time span. The English Renaissance produced some of the atmost works of literature.

The superior types of English publication during the Renaissance were the poem and the drama. We can found the elegy, the tragedy, and the pastoral in 16th century. Near the close of the English Renaissance John Milton created his Epic paradise lost.

The theatre in Renaissance England gradually evolved from town carnival to a bona fire cultural organisation. In 1567, The Red Lion was erected on the outskirts of London, one of the first financial play houses. From the very starting, the theatre had its dictators. Many show the theatre was an invention to sloth, which children forsaking their investigations and labourers leaving work to see the performances.

By the middle of the 17th century the unbounded optimism and humanist essence of the Renaissance could not proceed on eternally. In England, the increase of puritanism, itself an offshoot of Renaissance philosophy. Another reason for end of  the English Renaissance ce was the failure of ruler Elizabeth I to produce an heir.

In this way Renaissance ends leaving so many great works and death of the Elizabeth I too.

This is a short introduction of Renaissance art, discoveries and other great persons, which I found from YouTube and useful to understand more deeply with photographs of that time.

  • Thomas Kyd (dramatist)
  • Christopher Marlow (dramatist)
  • William Shakespeare ( the greatest dramatist)
  • Sir Philip Sydney (poet, critic)
  • Edmund Spenser (poet)
  • Francis Bacon (essayist)
  • John Donne (Metaphysical poet)

Edmund Spenser:-

"Be bold, and everywhere be bold"

Edmund Spenser considered as a greatest English poet of Elizabethan age or Renaissance era. He was born in 1552/53 in London, England and died on 13 January, 1599 in London, England. He is resting at Westminster Abbey. He is famous for his best work "The Faerie Queene ".

Life:-

Edmund Spenser was one of the three children of Elizabeth and and John Spenser who was a Lancashire gentleman by birth who had settled in London and become a free journeyman of the merchant Taylor's company. He was studied at the merchant Taylor's school from 1561 to 1569. There he was influenced by the famous feminist educator Richard Mulcaster who imparted to Spencer the notion that a man must use his learning in the service of the public good.

Spenser joined Pembroke hall, Cambridge University, in 1569 as a poor scholar. There he also continued his study of the Greek and Latin classics. After receiving his BA in 1573 and his Ma in 1576 he became a man of action as well as of letters. In the age that encouraged self fashioning, Spencer firmly established himself as Elizabeth's poet Laureate.

Works:-

Spenser lived the rest of his life in Ireland, and this love of the Irish countryside is evident in his poetry. To understand Edmund Spenser's less in the extraordinary literary Renaissance that took place in England during the last two decades of the reign of Queen Elizabeth, it is helpful to begin with the remarks of the foremost literary critic of the age sir Phillip Sidney. The Shepherds Calendar is Edmund Spenser's, the first major work which appeared in 1579.

Edmund Spencer's got fame by his masterpiece, his Epic poem "The Faerie Queene".

The first three books of The Faerie Queene were published in 1590, and the second set of three books were published in 1596. It is an algorical work. It was one of the first attempts at an English Epic poem which based on the Italian classics. Spenser wrote The Faerie Queene in honour of Queen Elizabeth. In addition to The Faerie Queene, Spenser wrote the very romantic cycle of sonnets called Amoretti, which he published in 1594 with his Epithalamium.

He also wrote other wroks too like Prothalamion, Britomart, A view of the present state of Ireland, complaints, Spenser's Poetical Work and other.
