New experiences as students usually revolve around academic pursuits, often confined to the realm of theoretical knowledge. However, as students in the Department of English at MKBU, we find ourselves engaged in multitasking. While mastering our academic subjects, my classmate and I have had the unique opportunity to take on leadership roles as the Library Committee Leaders (Library Committee Leaders, Batch 2022-2024 - Pooja Bhuva and Insiyafatema Alvani ) for 2023.
On December 30, 2023, at 9 AM, Insiyafatema Alvani, Yashrajsinh Sodha, Dhatri Parmar, and Hina Parmar, along with myself, gathered at the Department of English, MKBU, for event decoration. Since it falls under the purview of the Library Committee, careful consideration and decisions were necessary. Dhatri and Insiyafatema guided us in planning the decoration, and Hina Parmar, Dhatri Parmar, and Bhavyta Kukadiya adorned the board. Gradually, everyone arrived to commence and assist in the decoration process.
The ICT Committee Leaders, Ghansyam Katriya and Rajeshvariba Rana, skillfully managed the successful recording of the entire event, which was subsequently uploaded on YouTube. I deeply appreciate and extend my thanks to all involved.
The event commenced around 12:30 PM that day, and following a warm welcome, Insiyafatema Alvani took charge of hosting the first half. Dilip Sir, aiming to inspire and provide new insights into the theme, elucidated on the diverse meanings of entering the 'Another World,' emphasizing that reading an ebook is equivalent to engaging with a hard copy. He captivated the audience by reading Geetanjali Shree's novel 'Reatsamadhi' in both Hindi and its English translation by Daist Rockwell, exploring one version on a mobile device and the other in a traditional hard copy. Sir enriched the event further by reciting poems, including Harish Minsharu's 'પરોઢ' and 'હું બ્લોગ પર ટાઇપ કરતો હતો એક ગઝલ' and Meena Kandasami's 'Prayers overhead in the Bathroom.' (From Trushali Dodiya's Blog)
When Sir asked me about the significance of the title, I felt a bit anxious, fearing that I might answer incorrectly. However, I then remembered that every response is a part of learning. I answered that when we read or hear any story or book, our minds and concentration enter a different zone. This zone, metaphorically termed as the 'Another World,' is one we can enter but cannot fully explore, hence 'An Introduction.' I am grateful for choosing the title for this event with careful consideration, as Sir always encourages us to approach everything with thorough preparation.

This event concluded with a thoughtful gift from Ma'am in the form of chocolates. In closing, I shared a whimsical set of lines, imagining how William Shakespeare might react if he were to visit Earth in this technological century and witness us critiquing his works. With an air of attitude, he might say...
If they ask me, I'm not gonna lie,
Some ain't believe me, and some think I die,
I gave them story of Love, Hate and Cry,
Macbeth, Othello, Hamlet, which one can you apply?
Anonymous in Love, But I am not shy,
You think I am less educated,
But more than your career, My Ariel can fly.
